Ini adalah satu tembang lawas dari tahun 1958, dimana sampai sekarang tembang ini menjadi satu-satunya rekaman dari artis Italia yang menduduki chart Billboard Hot 100. Lagu ini telah diterjemahkan ke beberapa bahasa serta dibuatkan berbagai versi baru. Dan lagu ini telah diakui sebagai salah satu lagu paling populer sepanjang masa. Inilah Volare dari Domenico Modugno.

Kenapa lagu ini timeless dan sangat sangat populer? Kalau menurut gue, karena sang penyanyi terdengar (dan terlihat di video di atas) sangat menghayati lagu ini. Lirik lagunya bagus, ngga frontal tapi juga ngga hiperbola dalam menjelaskan perasaan seseorang saat bersama orang yang ia cintai. Selain itu, suara Domenico Modugno emang bagus. Dan seperti yang selalu gue katakan, penyanyi jaman dulu punya kualitas suara lebih baik daripada penyanyi jaman sekarang.

Oh dan gue suka banget dengan kalimat "so glad to be there with you". Simpel, manis, dan terdengar tulus =) Emang beda banget lagu yang TIMELESS dengan lagu yang sekali lewat...
